iOS features & settings

These features come from iOS — the software that runs your iPhone — so most arrive through software updates rather than a new phone. Exact options depend on your iOS version, and Apple changes these over time, so check Settings › General › Software Update and confirm the steps on your own device.

Tips & settings

Small settings worth knowing

Text size

Make text easier to read in Settings › Display & Brightness › Text Size, or add a quick control in Control Center.

Control Center

Add and rearrange quick toggles in Settings › Control Center so your most-used tools are one swipe away.

Notifications

Fine-tune how each app alerts you in Settings › Notifications — grouping, previews, and delivery style.

A note on versions

Menu names and locations shift between iOS versions. If a setting isn't where we describe, use the search bar at the top of the Settings app to find it by name.
